I think the harness is in the door as I have a 96 F350 that has the power mirrors and they are original. If the main harness to the door has the wiring for power and to the passenger door, then worst case is order it from the powerstrokeshop.com.
Keep in mind gasser mirrors will work.

Thanks for the replies, but the problem is that I live in Mexico and here the wrecked diesel is more than a hot item

I did not mean to mis-lead you. The power mirror are not part of the XLT package, there were a stand alone option in 1996.
