Has anyone used ATS tannys that is based Wheatridge Colorado? What kind of luck have you had? Did they build something thats going hold up.? What kind of components did the use? What was there guarantee? What kind of service did they give you on warranty work? Please give me your opinions.
I haven't used ATS, but I can advise you one company NOT to use...Phoenix ReTrans, a.k.a. Phoenix Hard Parts. They have had to replace my unit three times since last August. Now they need to go in a fourth time to replace the TC as it has begun bleeding out after sitting. They advertise on Ebay, and claim to build high Horse/torque units and to dyno them as well....B.S. 3 replacements in 9 months = they suck.
ATS is really picky about their transmissions. You must change it at 15K by an APPROVED shop, or your warrenties void. They have alot of limits in their warrenty. For the amount of money for an ATS you can get a BTS trans and it will be stronger and much better customer service.
SilverDually where are you driving from? Make sure you make all your phone calls before you turn off of route 65 on to 14 at that new interchange/overpass that is not done yet. Once we got going on 14 the phone service was lost and there is NOTHING to do in lead hill aside from hang out at BTS. That place is a freakin black hole. Good thing there is a subway or they would be screwed
oh i plan on hanging out at bts till there done with my truck then turning around and drving home GF is drving with me. im driving from chicago
and yes im going down 65 to route 14 can i get on 14 or is it just a bitch??? thanks a lot for the heads up
No, getting on 14 is the easy part. I am not too sure what the exit numbers were, but i know that you do make a 270* off ramp exit to stay on 65 (where the construction is) as the road continues on straight and changes names, and then a left turn across the highway onto 14. There is an exit for 14 that you will come to and goes off to the right, pass that and then the other direction of 14 (not sure e or w it was getting late by that time) will come up and you will turn off to the left. Then the road is CURVY as hell and its pretty fun to drive on. Watch out there was a straw bale in the road on a sharp corner i almost plowed into, so be mindful of that. You'll come to civilization with a convenience store on the left, pass that up the hill and then veer off to the right at the fork in the road, go down a steep hill, through a bottom and then you will see the lights of BTS off to the right. I know that we played hell getting there and now i know how to get there i hope its not hard for you.
Trailer Life did a two part story on the ATS tranny a month or two ago and it was very positive, but the test truck was a Dodge. My friend had a jasper unit put in his 02 f350 and has had nothing but problems.
My experience with Jasper was similar. 44,000 miles 3 replacements. and this was a "monster box". Monster pile of ****! traded the truck for a 02 F550 6 speed

Jasper. What else can you expect? I've seem a guy change 5 trannys from Jasper within a 6 month period.
Dont waste your time, The posts speak for themselfs, The Bts trann is unbeatable in workmanship and warranty. You can also stand there and watch brian build your transmission and see the parts he puts in. So you know its going to be right. If it isnt he will fix it. No problem no questions.
I live right down the road from ATS, but I went with a BTS too... the difference in my case is that there is a local dealer for BTS here and I had him order up the tranny, with my truck specs, from Brian and have it shipped.
I noticed a lot of negative stuff with ATS and too much positive about BTS to gamble. I don't doubt that ATS makes an exceptional tranny, I'm just not willing to gamble with that much money. Hell, it was even cheaper after shipping to get the BTS. .02
And, if you aren't willing to make the drive to AR, the price I got with the tranny shipped, installed, Trans R&R W/ system flush for $4600.
Who is going to do the install of the BTS for you in Denver area.?
Are you in the Metro area?
The name of the shop is Rockin S' Performance and they are just to the North in Fort Lupton. A few of the CO Powerstroke Club guys suggested them and clued me in that he can get the BTS ordered and installed.
