I'm looking to purchase a 2003 f150 supercab with 96K miles. It's an automatic 4x4 with the 4.6L. What should I be worried on this model with 96K miles? Mind you, the truck looks brand new (not a scratch on it) and the upper/lower arms appear to have been recently replaced (Not sure about the ball joints). Plus, the truck doesn't have the tow package.
Does anyone have any comments about this model/year/mileage?
They are asking $10,900 for it. Is that a good deal?
I've got a 2003 F-150 XLT Supercrew. However mine has the 5.4L engine. It has 78,000 mile on it now. I bought it used 2 years ago and haven't had a single problem out of it. Other than regular maintenance such as brakes and oil changes, I've done very little work on it.
I did have a set of true dual exhaust installed with Flowmaster 40 mufflers.
I'm also going to purchase a K&N Cold Air Intake for it soon.
$10,900 sounds pretty good to me.
I have a 2003 Supercab XLT 4x4 Sport that I bought brand new. It has 29,000 miles on it, has auto shift 4x4, Borla exhaust and K&N cold air intake. I have never had a problem with it other than normal maintenance. I have had a '94 F150, '97 F150, '99 Expedition and now this truck and it's been the best so far. Good Luck with your choice.
2003 SCAB King Ranch- 36K miles, no issues except a rattle in the driver's door, fixed the first time under warranty. IMHO 2003 is the best of the 1997-2003 (plus the 2004 Heritage) bodystyle. Plus, it still just plain looks better than the 2004-2007, again IMHO.
