[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Oct-02 AT 06:21 PM (EST)]Hello,
I'ld like to clean an 02 sensor before I have to buy a new one. Checking posts hear it appears some folks think Bank 1 is on the driver's side, and some think it is on Pax side. I know Bank 1 corresponds to cylinder 1 at least, but not sure which side cylinder 1 is on!!
Also, does anyone know if there are two or three 02 sensors per side?
Im not sure about side is 1 But my 4.6L tbird had 2 per side
upsteam and downstream for each bank.
as for as finding out about cylinder 1 you might want to check a timing or spark plug wire reference?
Bank 1 is the bank with cylinder #1....the passenger side of the engine. The cylinder that is furthest ahead is always #1.
You should have 1 O2 on each side and 1 catalyst monitor on each side behind the front catalytic convertors. These look like O2's but aren't really used as such...they monitor the cat to make sure it is working properly.
