I went with 2-1/2 mainly to clear larger tires, but hauling almost anything (a couple hundred pounds of mulch for example) makes the back sag down lower than the front...I am probably going to see what I can do to make some slightly larger lift blocks for the back, now) May go with a couple of air bags when I need to haul the really heavy stuff like firewood or dirt.
As for the install, mine was ~15-20 minutes per side, but credit that to air tools, pre-reading the instructions, plus a couple of great write-ups on this site.
Seems like I saw somewhere that someone who makes a spacer also makes a "add a leaf spring" for the rear so that it doesnt sag. I dont know if it was AS or not.
I have the 2.5" front spacer on mine, and I wish I had done the 2". It's so close to being nose high, that I'm not 100% in love with it. The product is great though.
btw, the coil-overs for a 4x4 and 4x2 or identical in all respects except for overall length. so yes, this kit will work for a 4x2 or 4x4.
for you 4x2 guys, you can buy the 4x4 rear block/u-bolts and get an extra 1-2" of lift for the rear, and a 4x4 coil-over will give you 1 to 1 1/2" lift...add a spacer, and presto, your truck is sitting 2-3" higher on all 4 corners.
