tranny reprogram

I recently instaled the Bully Dog Power Pup but only did the HP mod. I shyed away from the Tranny Smart reprogram because there was a disclaimer printed on it stating "software will not guarantee that damage will not occur to your vehicles tranny". My question is should I be worried about the doing the Smart Tranny reprogram? Am I more likely to have tranny trouble without it because of the engine tune? FYI I am using the 50hp setting on 2003 4x4 Excursion 7.3L with a 4R100 tranny. I have a 4" turbo back exhaust with full gauges. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you would be better served contacting the BD vendor with this question as nobody here can say for sure what program you got. The disclaimer sounds like the standard blurb though as the stock tranny can fail with no tunes and most aftermarket tunes can actually extend the life of the tranny by reducing the sloppy shifting and locking up the TC earlier.

I would return it and run DP-Tuner. I have done so with no real issues. He can adjust for the VB if you ever go to it.
