Just scored two bucket seats and center console from a wrecked 96 eddie bauer that match my interior, so the torn bench is going. I have a few questions that i really need help with.
I know i have the holes and studs on the outside but what about the 4 on the inside? are they there under my vinyl or will i have to drill holes and use nuts/bolts?
The eddie baur driver seat has power back forward up etc.... will i have the wire under the vinyl floor or can i just run a hot and ground because i cut off the connector when i took the seats? (same for passenger side)
So what i have is, the two seat belts, both seats and center, and 2 wire pigtails (one from each seat). Im pretty sure thats it, and it should be a straight forward swap. I would appreciate any advice or answers. Thanks
You'll need to drill the other holes and you should use some 1/4" plate for bracing. I'd put it on each side and bolt the new bolts and nuts through.
Just set the new seats in, lined up with the existing holes...mark for the new ones and drill away.
You'll have to run the wires and I'd run them along the edge of the carpet/vinyl, just under the threshold. All you have to do is loosen it and the wires will slip under. If it won't go easy......just under your vinyl will work too. Should be a spot on your fuse block for a hook-up. You can run them above, under the dash to get over to the passenger side.
Sounds like it will be a nice set-up........pics please when you are done.
Glad you found a set . I've been looking for a power base for my wifes truck (she's 4'10").
92 F150flare covered it well . Did you get the seat belt part that mounts to floor? They stand up on the bucket seat set so you don't have to dig for belt. Good luck on swap.
yep got the seat belts and the wire connectors for each seat (cut them off the old truck). thank you very much flareside and lostin90s for the responses, the help is appreciated and i will get pics when done. The connects for the seats are black and black with white stripe. All they need is power and ground i assume? and yes i will tap in at the fuse panel and run them down the side of the floor and under it. thanks again
You might be able to get your ground at one of the mounting bolts. I'd run the power wire then touch the ground wire to different spots with the button pushed. You'll have your floor pretty much exposed anyway. If it works at the bolts put a ring connector on it and bolt it in.
Might not have to run two wires.
Old bench seat is out and is going to be saved for playing video games on, VERY cool when on the floor in the house lol.
Took the vinyl floor off, and im cleaning everything, getting ready to mock up the bucket seats and mark for the 4 holes im drilling. Next while everything is still out i want to run my wire(s) for my driver side power/lumbar and passenger side lumbar. Ill try and ground them to the body, should definately work (my amp already is). I found the fuse (#12) on the fuse panel for the power driver seat and lumbar, just need to know the wire color so i can tap into it, instead of just jamming a wire in with the fuse.
I could also use an ignition wire (one thats only hot when the ignition is on), right? Ive got tonight and tomorrow to finish it up. Would appreciate any advice, and until i figure that out, im putting on backup lights too lol.
Haynes shows that is a Blk/Wht going to fuse #12. 30amp also for the door locks. If you just use any hot you might overload that particular circuit......I don't know what those Lumbar motors draw but it's on a 30 amp so it must be a good amount.
Well...ive got some news. Sorry for no updates or pics, but the girlfriend was sittin in the middle seat when i did the wiring...and decided she likes sitting in the middle of my bench better???? lol first rule guys before you do any modding is ask.... I didnt even get to put the buckets in my pickup! Pretty much took out the old one, did some cleaning and wired it up for power and thats that. Just resold them today.

thats why i have the truck with the 40/20/40 seats! best of both !
That's what I was going to say. I've got the bucket/bench flip up console setup and my ex gf always rode in the middle, then I could put down the console when she wasn't there, it was great.
Props for putting your girlfriends interests before yours... But WHOOPISSH!! (awful rendition of a whipping noise) you're whipped
well what gf , at least right now , but yea my ex loved to sit there too, loved the full bench in the 91 , she was a little miffed when i put true buckets and a console in the 91

Lol, wasn't talkin to you about the being whipped part, talkin to the OP. Clearly you don't care what your women want out of your truck. Right on!
