Looking to put a topper on an F-250 short box. Any suggestions on brands, designs or suggested options. Don't really care for the taller versions, but really like the walk in door avalible with them.
How about some pics of some on trucks.
Thanks

I believe (could certainly be wrong here) but the walk-in's in a low profile, are only available through ARE. I just got rid of a Century that looked much like the one Benny showed, and it was a real nice top.
I have a Covermaster, which I believe is the same mold as Leer. It is the kind with the window trim. I like the new ones that look like the side windows are just sitting on the outside of the cap, real clean looking.
I believe Ford beds tapper in on the back of the bed a tad, so when I mount my cap, I have to have someone push in on each side while I tighten. Not sure if you can get a tappered cap?
Anyone have those luggage racks that mount to the top of a cap? I need a set of those but not sure what they will hold for weight.
Here's a pic of my Leer/Browning special edition. I got it because it has a gun case built into the ceiling. As part of the Browning special edition package it came with the Yakima roof rack:
I've had an ARE on my 99 F250 SD since I bought it. It has the door and the back also flips up. The side windows flip up (really glad I got that instead of sliding windows for access, for my use). Couldn't be happier with it. Great fit, finish and color matched perfectly.
Requires tailgate removal.
Raises your center of gravity.
Catches the wind more.
I clamped mine to the bed, I should have bolted it to the bed, as it keeps moving around, no matter how tight I clamp it.
Mine's taller than the cab, so has probably cost me in mpg.
8 years and 190,000, the rubber seals are going away so is leaking when it rains. gas shock on small door is shot. Some of the locks have filled with dirt and won't work anymore.
No complaints.
Now that I think about it, not sure why I need a tall one. I might just get a tunnoe (sp) cover next time.
Thanks for the pic bigsky, nice looking cap. Mine is the exact same style, but not the browning edition options. Would like to get the racks, mostly to use for hoisting the top off when I need to do it alone.
