thanks for the reply, Hakk, I do have the origional oil bath air filter on the truck, and I am sure it needs to be changed. I will have to wait on that though. I was working on it last night and I've decided to just pull the whole motor out so I can actually look and see whats going on here. Before I do that I might set it back togeather because I never did a compression test (Which I really should have done first, DUH), but I'm pretty sure that cylinder #1 is my problem.
By the way, do you really have to pull the whole motor out to get to the timing chain? The cover is bolted to a plate, which upon further investigation is a motor mount. There are no side motor mounts on it either. Oh well, more quality time with the truck I guess
