Thanks to all of those who responded to my problem last week. Thought I would follow up with the status. I was able to get in the access panel inside the truck and jump the wires to the motor and get the window down. Then I could open the tailgate and get to the wiring in the left tail lamp. Found no problem there!
The problem I found was as follows. The tailgate was not shut all the way. Even though it was shut enough to get the window up the prior week, when driving the latch had moved just enough to activate the switch which prevents the window from operating. I lubed up the latches and now it works perfectly.
Thanks for the post, after I read it I got a friend to go back and press on my tailgate...Sure enough the window came alive when I pushed down on the switch. Now, its has alot of resistance going down (sometimes you have to rock the switch or get someone to wiggle the window as it comes down). Could the rubber guides be dryed up, or what?? Thanks
I would try lubin up the gears inside the panel as well as using a powder lubricant on the rubber glides that the window slides in. I did this when I had everything open and it helped make for a smooth run. I am not sure why you have to rock the switch that souds like a different matter? Does it act the same when you use the tailgate key?
