Now that my truck is running good. I am gettin into mods. I have already put the 6637 air intake on. I want to get a chip and guages. But first I think I will do the exhaust.
Is there any difference between 4 or 5 inch exhausts besides sound? Do you get a MPG gain at all. Is there any drawbacks to getting a 5 inch exhaust?
Is a 4 inch better at anything?
Anything more than a 4" turbo back is nothing but sound preference. I heard of alot of people ordering from MKO exhaust or someone on there with a lot of good results. The 5" will have more drone.
I got the 5" MKO from ebay and I am glad I went that way. I love the sound. 5" is just sound over the 4" plus its alittle more tight to work with around the rear end and spare tire. You do eliminate the cat since its a turbo back system. And the drone isn't bad at all IMOA. Go 5" with no muffler and don't look back.....
5" MKO system with muffler on mine. 311hp/640tq and 9.6s in the 1/8th. Of course I have some other mods but the exhaust does not seem to be hurting anything.
Just installed my MKO 5in turbo back exhaust w/ no muffler last week. Definally great sounding and like stated allready its kinda tight between the spare tire and right rear shock. I say just go with the 5in w/ no muffler and have fun!
Good luck
Erik
Tom....I don't want to mess with "consensus"......Just get the 5"......It won't cost you much more and it'll handle just about anything you decided to add to the truck.......
