I run the 4" MBRP cool duals with no muf and 5" tips. If I roll the windows down It sounds great with the windows up it's not loud at all. My friends say it sound really good on the road.
That is very true. Smokin was a good opportunity for me to hear a lot of different exhausts and the most stacks I've seen gathered in one place.
The stacks have a cool chgging kind of sound like a freight train. Kris' stacks sounded great outside and I rode in the back on the way to the lodge and they sounded pretty good although that wasn't 70-80mph.
Now you won't be able to give the guy on the right a dose of smoke and whistle as you pass him with stacks. I like stacks though. They are somewhere down the list as they will not make my truck any faster or more powerful.
If I were starting fresh, I would probably get stacks but for now I am good. Think that over hard when considering a new exhaust.
You know what's bad?
A Duramax with a cannon exhaust.
I've seen several around here and I always think it's a PSD and turn around to watch it go by and it's a Chebbie!!!
They flutter just like a PSD!
Gotta luv the v-8 flutter. Sure do get alot of looks from the neighbors with the wistle and flutter. My neighbor has an early 03 6.0 with 5" exhaust. The wistle on that thing is amazing.
It must be a V8 thing. I can tell when SCUMMINS is coming from a pretty good distance away. yeah you are right the Duramaxes and PSD sound pretty similiar
