decode this...

Trying to see if mine is an HD... trans is "K" ... engine is the 351 i think M, axles are "32" and GVW is 6950...

thanks guys

K - 3-spd Automatic = C6

Engine code H in Vin # = 351M

axle code 32 = 3.00:1 (1981,1982) ....[4.10:1 in 1983+]

i dont think my vin has an H in it...nope... here is my vin

1FTEX26G1BKA43917

used the decoder but it just says 5.8L which i already knew...

In '83 Spec Book it shows the HD's start at 8500 lb. GVWR.

When the "Light Duty" F250's came out in 1986, that was the year that Ford started calling the other F250 a HD. The LD's had 8.8 rear axles, the HD's had 10.25 Sterling axles.

That's correct. The HD terminology was first used in 1986.
