TRANNY PROBLEMS
I HAVE A 1980 BRONCO 351M WITH A C6 AUTO TRANNY. I COMPLETELY REDID MOTOR AND WHEN I PUT THE MOTOR BACK IN THE TRANNY STARTED SLIPPIN REAL BAD, I HAD TO GO THROUGH GEARS 1,2,D TO KEEP HALFWAY UP TO SPEED. FINALLY MY FORWARD GEARS WENT OUT AND NOW I ONLY HAVE REVERSE. I KNOW THE CASE MOST LIKELY IS THAT MY CLUTCHES BURNED OUT BUT HAVE HEARD THAT TRANNY IS SPECIAL TYPE C6 AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT IT. PLEASE HELP!!!

TRANNY PROBLEMS
You have a "big block" C-6. (and a dead one by the sound of it) If you visit a junk yard only a C-6 from the big blocks will fit. You will need one with the large spacing on the bell housing bolts. A tranny from a 351m / 400 / 460 will fit good luck.

Well any of the big block C-6 tranny's will work however..... converting the tailshaft will require some serious work and I would suggest an experienced transmission mechanic do it. Kepp hunting for a 4x4 tranmission for a big block, they are out there or.....
