There is a hose that runs toward the cab off the air intake tube to the intake manifold...When I pulled that off, I really had poor vacuum...Shouldn't it atleast hold a small peice of paper?
Also, I have recently developed a front deal and rear seal leak...I know a bad PCV can cause those...Bottom line I don't think I have the crankcase vacuum I should have...I pulled the PCV and it has "some" pressure, but not much..
I tested the topend for a vacuum leak with carb cleaner, and nothing was noted...Any thoughts?
Vacuum come from the intake manifold, put the tube back on. it sounds like you have alot of other vacuum leaks to find, don't forget to check the hardline vacuum lines too.
you took the hose off the (tree) on the intake and the hose was still attach to the pcv when you did the paper test?
No, no....I disconnected the hose from the "air tube" (?)..The tube from the air cleaner to the TB...There is a single hose attaching on the backside that connects to the intake manifold...I was under the understanding that their should be a strong vacuum on that hose, sucking fresh air into the intake....I'm going to replace the PCV today and try to find a replacement PCV hose (that conects to the intake from the PCV)..There maybe a vacuum leak there...
Two different hoses I'm talking about, but operationally connected?
Concerning your quote...I don't think those hoses on the tree attach to the PCV, do they?...I'll look again...
