Sarge, should you decide a full rewire is in order, EZwire www.ezwiring.com makes a quality kit and unlike some of the bigger "names" they don't think their wire is made from gold. I'm using one of their mini 21 kits on my 56, only 145.00. There's a LOT of wire in their kits, so even by the pound it's about the price of hamburger.
