Hi all sorry I have not been around much. I have not had easy internet hook up for a while
Any how It has be come nessisary that i beg for more help.
I have a 97 f350 cc 4x4 e4od 210K mi
in the last few weeks my truck as been having afew problems.

twise whenI have made right turns out of a parking lot the check engin light has come on and the truck just idles over to the curb no responce form the peddal. for a moment, then when I go agian. the truck has a realy hard time shifting.

then yesterday I was leaving the ranch Check engin light, ans my OD light started falshing truck hard time shifting.
I checked the tranny fluid It was full but smelled burnt.

For the the last few months the truck has been running well
the only problem" with the trany" has been that the t/c has not been locking till I go about 5 miles down the road.

So as far as I know the trany may be oringinal but w/ 210K
it probaly is not.

So is it time to replace the thing?
what other options are out there? trany flush? new TC reabuild any guess how much parts for some thing like this would cost.

the no throttle issue is the Throttle position sensor on the throttle pedal assembly. double check the connection on it then give the two sensors there a squirt of wd 40 or similiar. the shifting issue is probably related

For your OD light and shifting issue could be a bad speed sensor located on the top of th rear diff. makes sure the connection is good and clean. also check all your fuses under dash and engine compartment. I would recommend changing that tranny fluid also.

The toque converter not locking is normal if the truck is cold when it does it. the TC will not lock until the tranny reaches a set temp. IF it does it all the time there could be an issue but my guess is the other problem have caused you to pay closer attention and you just notice it now.

 

I put a new vss in in jan. as far a the TPS is that down with the pedals.. It seems like my truck has some other eletrical issues. my hazard light make my T/C unlock . and there are some other internitint sort of bugs.. thanks very much... Oh yeah when My vss went out the ABS light came on thanks so much J

 

As far as th TC not locking till 5miles down the rode it did star this winter. when it was cold but . but it definatly did not use todo it.. so ithink it maybe a sign of some thing. J
