1984 Bronco question?
I have a manual on order, but would like to know... Does th 84 have an IFS front end or not?
I tried to find pix on the web, but none were easy to tell.
Any help/answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Here is some information I found:
"Twin Traction Beam is a name Ford used to describe their independent =
front suspension on most four wheel drive vehicles except the F-350 =
between 1980 and 1996. The Explorer went to an A-arm type suspension in =
the mid 1990's. Mechanically, the TTB axle is similar to a straight axle =
with a hinge in the middle. It uses a two part housing with one part for =
each side of the axle. The inboard ends of the housings are attached to =
a frame cross member while the outboard ends support the steering =
knuckle and are attached to the frame through the springs and radius =
arms. For full size Broncos and F-Series pickups, the mechanicals of the =
axle are based on the Dana 44 and use many of the same parts. The =
knuckles and spindles are different than the straight axle version of =
the Dana 44, but the axle stub shafts and locking hubs are directly =
interchangeable with straight-axle Dana 44's, except for 87 to 88 =
vehicles with manual hubs (see section 11.3). Ring and pinions will also =
interchange with other reverse-rotation Dana 44's. The differentials, =
however, are different and will not interchange."
