i found some lights at rural king that go on your reese for 25 bones but i didnt know if they were any good or even bright so i waited for now may go back in buy them
Thanks for the compliments, Dan and Peter. Another fellow named GaryT had the same setup first, and I followed his lead. Lot of work but definitely worth it.
I Frenched some PIAA 1500 Back Ups Into the rear bumper of my 2001 and 2007. Wired to come on automatically with the reverse lamps or by themselves with the switch (on the 07 I used one of the upfitter switches). Great to switch them on at night to hook up trailers or close the gates the shop, etc...
While not exactly hidden, they look pretty good I think.
I like it DC. What did you use and how much of a pain was it?
Lights are PIAA 1500 BackUps.
For the "bezels" or whatever you want to call them....1/8" thick, 1" wide steel cut and welded to follow the shape of the lights. Then traced it on the bumper, cut with the plasma cutter, welded, smoothed it out and prepped for paint. Took me a few hours to do the metal work and get it ready to be sanded and primed prior to paint.
