Good sounding exhuast
With a detailed list of mods like that. i wouldnt think some one would sit and pull **** out of the air. Would have to came from experience but anything is possible, if you want to call him a liar build the same motor and see. Until then i would like to hear of more exhaust.
My exhaust guy is going to run one cat with 2.25'' pipe and a magnaflow all the way back with a 4'' tip out the passanger side. i dont know how it would sound though. i dont want it to be a hardcore v8 sound just like a low tone tractor, no high pitch. Would it be better off to run it without the magnaflow?
Stock 300 puts out max torque at 3000 rpms. Maximum horsepower is ... well, I forget the RPMs. But anyway, my point being, 300 cubic inches at 150 Horses. That's a lot of displacement for 150 horses to roam. You can build those motors to maximize HP. I believe him when he says he gets 6500 rpms. It just takes money and time.

3K??? You sure? I thought it was much lower than that. I thought it was at most 2K, or lower. When I'm pulling up hills my truck seems to hit around 2K or 1800 and it seems like it hits a wall, it won't go any lower than that. I thought this was about where the peak was on the torque.

I could be wrong man, I'm dumber than a stick, but from what I've read it hits max torque at 3000 rpm's.. correct me if I'm wrong someone, please! I have a hard time hitting 3000 rpm's though. I almost have to put it to the floor. Again, I'm dumber than a stick, so don't take my word for it.. but I've heard it said it's at 3000, and I've read it's at 3000.. so I don't know.
I was checking out a dyno chart for a 5.0 explorer, and the peak torque on it was at 2400 RPM's, and it stayed fairly flat.
I don't know about the 300, but I'm pretty sure that it has alot lower torque peak than the 5.0's
Anyways, it doesn't matter, on with the exhaust thread!

My dad said I need to put flow masters on my truck. Ah ha! i don't think so. I don't want a HOT ROD sound.
Well, glass packs will give you a hot rod sound for sure. A glass pack is just that, a tubed packed with fiberglass. It will be fairly quiet when you first put it on the truck, but once you start driving it, it will start to get louder. I've never heard one on a straight 6. they shouldn't cost that much, go to a local muffler shop and ask around for prices.

But I know my 1995 f150 EFI, To me I know that it sounds like a good "Balanced" rumble when i start it but, when im at 2500 and stomp on it, it goes "errrrRRRRRRRR!!!!". Normally you feel and here the interior resonance from the Flowmaster 40 series muffler at 2500 rpm. Just when you let off the gas it goes "Blup! Blup! Blup! Blup!" thats normall. I know a guy that has a 302 and his does the same thing.
I really know that there not really the time and effort for getting header for 92-96 f150 body ford. I heard that the stock 3 by 1 slip are good as headers.
And plus, you don't want headers anyway, they rust. The manifold that came with the truck are thick cast iron, last a long time.
When I fist got the flowmaster my truck sounded like a 4 banger, man I hated it. So I told the muffler shop to cut my back cat and replace it with straight pipe. Sounded alot better, little more rumble and better flowing tone. But then I was an idiot and got rid of the front cat "2 in 1" and sounded worst. More popping sound, sounded like a tractor ( Some people like but thats okay) but I didn't like it. I mean people can here you with this setup all you got to do and have the engine cruising at 2500 rpm and you'll feel the vibration.
Ive finally decided what im gonna do with my I6. Hedman Header to a Y pipe then a Hooker Aero Chamber all the way back to the stock exit finished off with a Hedman Big Wazoo tip. should sound good
