Father-in-Law borrowed my truck - Dents!
I should have listened to my wife (her father) borrowed my truck. She told me not to let him because he's careless with his vehicles. Well since I store my boat at my in-laws I kind of felt obligated if you know what I'm saying.
Well to make a long story short, my 06 F-150 Lariat now has a 2-3" dent on the tailgate with two matching scratches to the left and right.
He apologized and explained that the tailgate accidentally hit the tractor that he was towing blah-blah-blah. Honestly, I didn't hear one word I was just waiting for the "I'll take care of it" piece of the conversation. It finally came..."I'll take care of it"...the moral of the story don't lend your truck to anyone!
Just venting...thanks for listening.

anytime i have ever had something happen to something while i am borrowing it, i at least order the parts before i return the item.... and then tell the owner that the parts are on the way.... it seems to help matters. but thats why i hate to borrow stuff.... it seems that something always has to happen !!!

Thanks for your replies..I've calmed down now. I guess the part that really bothered me the most was that my wife told him (before I handed him the keys) to be careful. He even seemed to be a little irritated by the fact that she was saying this to him in front of me. But I guess she knows him better than I do. Oh yeah, he could of at least cleaned the dirt and grease stains on the passenger side door (interior)..
Well when it's all said and done it'll be fixed and he'll never borrow my truck again. I like the idea of driving the truck and supervising that'll make things go allot smoother.

This reminds me somewhat of when my fairly new Jeep Cherokee was damaged. Our office was giving away a big Microwave to a less fourtunate employee. I agreed to carry him home with it since he normally takes the bus. Well as I was lifting the hatch the idiot walked right into my Jeep and the corner of the Microwave dented my door frame up by the window. Now this guy didn't have a pot to pee in, so I got nothing but the I'm so sorry deal....
I lived with that dent for years....
