hi tim,
to begin, you without question caught everything i asked plus some.
i have been told my style is say different, but i am what i am and i try to be polite because i prefer it.
in order if you will to your response.
tim would you send son a private pm when you have time particulary about your hd work. i really would like to know, GOOD hd machinists are very hard to find tim.
your windage tray, i want one, a part# from meyer is all i ask.
the slinger issue, please educate me on the new seal tech and sell us one, we need it tim.
without bragging, we are stud believers, son allready is running arp head studs, the main cap studs we can get from you when we buy your 400 crank and your real nice slugs you have for our open chamber app.
the stud kit i brought up in my post was for the pan. it is a small thing but studs do help keep the gasket from walking, again a non issue really but why not.
your cow mags work for me,give us a part # we want it please, it is as i said, i just want to capture as much as possible Before it leaves the pan, Meyer, gets it, you know this, hence your cow mags, i just need some tim.
i worked very hard to state my case about anything meyer might produce.I said, i just assume your flanges will be strong, in my internet style, this was a complete show of faith. i did not feel the need to ask, because i knew in my boots you just would.
i could use more of your hardcore help in the bottom end oiling issues but enough for right now,
again, thank you tim, just thank you

i am so confused after trying to read father/son's posts... gonna go get some ibuprofin now.
I understand him perfectly. It's cool that he's on the site and laying it out there as only he can.
I would think that a magnet that a guy could remove and clean when changing oil would be a great idea and very marketable.
Tim, I think he was looking for studs to fasten on the pan...interesting idea. I too like studs whenever I can use them.
Father: You can get those in grade 8 from any bolt and fastener outlet and most hardware stores. I use a local ACE when i don't go to the bigger town where the bolt place is located...cheaper at the outlet than hardware store.
Mr roger dowty,
thank you sir for your support, just thank you.
on a side note and for fun,
i have always been told, that the only thing between the fair state of Montanna and the north pole i/e the hawk or mariah or that plain ole COLD wind is a barbed wire fence. say it aint so our new friend ..you are a better man than me. it does get cold in md, but not like your state boss. no way(big grin)
later,
us.

ps, i hear you loud and clear on the studs, thanks for the heads up tip.
i always use a magnetic drain plug in everything. Not only does it pull metal out of the oil before it gets into the pump it allows a quick visual check on the engine.
Some parts stores have magnetic plugs available. I make many of my own magnetic plugs with a drill press and bar magnets. The magnet will hold itself in place so there is no need for any adhesive.
again, i almost forgot, Montanna, big sky country,
hank williams jr/aka boceouphes, climbed to the top of one of your mountains and fell all the way back down again.
he wrote a song about it, one of my personal favorites. it dang neer killed him.
i have never been past texas myself, but for what it is worth, one of my goals in life before i pass is to simply just see your state. and to be around some serious hardcore strait up american folks period.
later and thank you.
me.

he was dating my sis in law about that time- right before or after...can't remember...met him a couple times when i was an air force recruiter in Missoula...he has a mountain home up in the southern bitterroot mountains and is considered to be one of the best shots with the old sharps rifle. Always wears eye shades to hide the damaged face.
If you want cold you gotta go to N Dakota/n. minnessota/n michegan etc. I live in the banana belt of Montana so it rarely gets below -20 unless your in the mountains and/or count wind chill. It's been a lot warmer over the past few years...substantailly warmer...kind of scary.
I've been reading your posts since you've arrived...you'll do.

Do you happen to know Maj. Lewis Yearout USAFR from Great Falls?

Matter of fact, it's snowing right now. Good thing I mowed the lawn the other day.
Its only really cold up on the High Line, Havre, Wolf Point, Glasgow, Plentywood... and then right around Butte, but its buried in the mountains, despite the pit they built themselves.
I always stick a long narrow bar magnet in our race engine oil pans, but they aren't built with sump areas... they are just flat on the bottom and sump picks up on the right side...
I go to deer lodge (by butte america- "a mile high, a mile deep and always on the level") every week..prison work...and it is far colder than the 'root'. Highline is probably similar to it's eastern neighbors...went to grad school at Northern in Havre. love to bird hunt in Scobey area.
Never met maj yearout....I didn't get around much and was the HQ was SLC believe it or not. I was a one man office and had a lot of fun.
mr roger Dowty, to you and yours,
we hear you,
we stone flat out believe you,
and we thank you.
later,

maryland. ps, around here we call +20 f cold, we do not know much about -20. i would not lie to you sir. as i said, you men up northwest, extra tough something.maybe a carhart special edition, i dont know. i wear them and i like them but all my stuff is there thinwall insulate. its all us folks need (grin)
we heard you on the sharps, dont forget agout the 50 cal hawken, we know about mr b,s glasses and what happened to his face.to be honest, usually when you hear about an injury like that to a man, its a montanna BEAR who is mad and has a good right hook. but come to learn, always respect your montanna rock. again a strait up (grin).
mr roger, its been real, but son and i are going to lay low for awhile. private pm,s work for us always from folks like you.
