I am relocating to Fort Lauderdale next month and will be selling my truck when I arrive. I am trying to establish a value for this truck in Florida. I purchased it in Maryland in September 2005 with 25,000 miles. It now has 80,000. I never haul and hardly ever tow. It has been mostly a highway commuter.
Details: 2003 F 350 7.3 Lariat Supercab 4x4 (ESOF), Black with Tan lower accent, tan leather and auto transmission. I change the oil every 5K and use Mobil 1.
Mods: Linex bed liner, ARE cover, Recon smoke clearance lights, pillar mounted boost and temp gauges, MBRP SS 4” turbo back exhaust, ARE Stage II air cleaner, Diablo Predator tuner, Edelbrock IAS shocks, Yokahama Geolander street tires (18kmiles approx) and probably others that will come to me. Although I have the Predator, I have been running stock.
I see these at the dealers, when they can get them, for close to 30K. What do you all think is realistic for a private sale?
Thanks.

Right now I have a good friend trying to sell an 03' F350 CC Lariat 6.0 PSD (which has had ZERO problems) sitting on 20" Harley Rims and 35" mudders and a great sound system with 55k on it and cann't give it away for 28k! It books somewhere in the neighbor hood of 34k. I think your quite optamistic to get 30k for an 80k mile 5 model year old truck Unless the market is that much different down there.
I would think the high twenties or even 30. I just bought one in March very similiar to yours. Dealer was asking $29,996.00 and I got it for $27,500. They did complete service, alignment and new batteries. It had 50020 miles when I drove it out.

Some people, like me, may be turned off by the mods (Exhaust, tuner, etc.). When I see a truck with tuners and other performance stuff I tend to shy away because you don't know if the guy raced all the time or what. If you have the stock parts, you might want to put them back on. Don't take this the wrong way, but some people are going to look at this truck as not having a long life left in it if they think you race or beat on it, even if you babied it it's whole life. But who knows, maybe you'll find the right buyer that wants these mods.
madjak, think about that, you got a Crewcab with 30k less miles for 27,500k from a dealer completely serviced. csurp is selling and ExCab with 80k as a private party, not a dealer, I'd say based off of your post that his truck would bring maybe $26k unless you got a deal of the century down there. In the end, the truck could've been purchaced new for under 40k out the door, it's now 5 years old and has 80k miles, I would certainly expect it to drop at a minmum 1/3 of new price which would be about $26.5k. I don't think he'll move it for anything over $28k, I could be wrong since I really don't know the market down there but I do know what it is up north.
All I know is that market value of diesels has dropped here in central AL. They are now very close on par with their gasser counterparts. Also, 6.4L sales have been dwarfed by v10 sales in the 08' models. Supposedly there will be some hammering of older diesels with the new emissions requirements for 2010 that will impact A LOT of vehicles in Alabama, which is adopting a more liberal stance than usual. Also, NF 250 is right about the mods... a lot of people will be turned off by them save for the one or two hotshot guys that want to dog their truck out you'll find, it's just a matter of finding them! Most guys relate performance mods with actually making the truck perform... and with a tuner it can really shorten the life span of an engine.
Go to www.kbb.com (kelly blue book) and you can type in your new florida zip code. You can do a detailed options and condition format if you choose. They will give you private sale, dealer trade-in and retail pricing.
Thanks for the comments. When I referenced dealer prices, I did not mean to inply that that was the number that I was expecting to get. I was actually thinking about 23K. So it looks like I may get that or pretty close.
I think 23k is a reasonable price to sell, have a pic? Why are you selling it? if your moving to south fla. You know, you'll need all the protection you can get from these knucklehead drivers down here.
Does Maryland use salt on the roads in winter? If so, then it's going to be plainly obvious compared to other vehicles from the south and I'm concerned that you won't be able to sell it easily.

There are a lot of communities that don't allow trucks. Pictures are in my gallery. I added the Recon clearance lights since they were taken.
