These old 3spd are so simple. You pretty much only need a feeler gauge set, 1/2 and 9/16 wrench and a snap ring plier to rebuild one. The shop manual tells you exactly how to do it. Just the only thing with manual transmissions is they cost more to rebuild than an automatic.

I did start to rebuild a 1951 Warner T87D HD 3pd tranny but quit since it was going to be expensive and I didn't have a flatty anymore.
