Recently replaced the block and internals in my 89 F150 302 EFI.
Noticed that the new block was not the same as it had no hole for the knock sensor at the back. Not really a drama. But the lower inlet manifold I used has a broken sensor and I was wondering if someone can tell me what it is.
On the drivers side ( US ) ( or passenger side Aust. ) there are 2 sensors. Brass with the plastic housings. The front one is OK. What is the back one. It's almost just underneath the fuel press regulator. What does it control and what happens if it's not working? The whole plastic part is broken off including the elec pins. The truck runs. Would just like to know what it is and what effect it has.
Cheers.
Any sort of Ford engineering number on the part? Most all of the underhood parts now are so marked. For example..fuel pump relays will be marked similar to: E7EE-9345-AA.
