have anyone installed a set of the clear headlights 7" bulb..they sell from LMC..it comes with a wiring harness so u can use replaceble bulbs like H2 or 9007......it would look really cool to see an old truck like this with HID headlights...any pics maybe??
I put a similar set in my 83 and you don't need to rewire anything. The 3 prong design of the sealed beam is the same design/pin-out as the h4 or whatever buld it is that fits in the new lamp.
the lights use h4 bulbs and they are a little bigger than the hole in the back of the headlight bucket so it will need to be enlarged by 1/4 or so. If you do not buy a wiring harness then it is plug and play I would highly recoment you buy the wiring harness. wiring was easy except for hiding the wires going from one side of the truck to the other not quight enough wire to do what I wanted, so mount the relays as close to the passenger side headlight as possable. Also do not touch the lamps with your bare hands, it will cause the bulb to burn out. I don't know if they make a HID conversion for H4 bulbs but a true HID system will set you back a least $500.
i dont need a TRUE HID set...but u can buy the bulbs ballast and harness for like 160 on ebay...i have the 9007.in my 2002 king ranch F150..it looks great..u dont really need the real deal..and it passes inspection....most of the time the inspectors let those things go..
i just put it in my trk last weekend wrks great got alot better chance to see the deer now just wish rest of trk looked good as as my tri bar headlights the harness is tight theres no extra wire
