302 stroker or not
i had the oil pan off my 79 302 again today and i cant help thinking its stroked the skirts of the pistons are ground down in diffrent spots to clear the crank in some spots the skirts come 10 thousands to hitting the crank .but how can u stroke a 302 with a stock crank and it looks like stock rods but i cant see any numbers it also has a .60 over bore and appers to have high compression pistons in it .but the thing that does not make sence is why would u stroke a motor and raise compression to put d70e heads on it .i dont know its driving me crazy if its not stroked why are the piston skirts custom ground .can u change stroke by using diffrent pistons ??? oh and its got a 2ma crank in ti

Here we go again. 10 thousandths?(.010) You realize how little that is? .063 is 1/16". But you can stroke one using a stock crank that's offset ground. That used to be one way it was done before the off the shelf stroker cranks entered the market. Pull the heads, and measure the distance the piston travels up and down the bore if it bothers you that much.
