Hard starting in cold

This weekend I took a trip to the mountains to fish and at night it got down to about 20 degrees. My truck was hard to start. Sat. a.m. took me 3 times to get it started. Sun a.m. it took several times including waiting 10 minutes in between cranking it. I only had a 1/8 tank of fuel. Could that have anything to do w/ it? This past winter it got to about 25 for about week and it started up just fine. This a.m.(was 65 here) started up no problem. other than this weekend at I haven't had a problem. Thanks

Sounds like you may have a GPR (slow plug relay) that is going south on you. When the truck has been sitting for a while and is cool, check both big posts immediately after turning the key on (within about 40 seconds) and there should be power to both. if one is weak, or power non existant it is time for you to get a new GPR. If that tests good you need to check your GP's. An ohm meter works best, but a test light will work also.

Starting cold

Start simple, do a load test on your batteries first, take it from someone who lives in -40, then GP's if batteries are fine
