Any suggestions on the removal of the large grey cap/cover
that is inside the hub? This cap/cover is what the three auto hubs cover screws thread into. The cover has a little play and is loose. There isn't a screw or bolt in the recessed hole in the middle. Does it require a special tool?
There is a snap ring that holds that part of the hub in. It seats in a grove in the wheel hub. Use a flat-head screwdriver or a pick or something sharp like that to get under the ring and lift it out. Then use 2 of the bolts that hold the cover on to pull the hub body out.
look at this great site on auto to manual hub conversion!!! has many pics!
