Water Pump/Thermostat Compatability

I've read from various posts that the thermostat to get when replacing one on a 335 engine is a Robertshaw 333 series that can be purchased from flowkooler. I checked out their website, and emailed them asking about using this t-stat with a stock replacement water pump, and the reply I got made it sound like the only time one of these t-stats needs to be used is when using one of their $100 water pumps with it. Is this the case, or are you guys running these thermostats with the stock water pumps?

I don't think that you have to run THEIR water pump, that doesn't make any sense. I've been on this forum for quite a while and have heard about the robertshaw thermo's alot. Nothing that I've ever heard said anything about having to run an aftermarket water pump. I belive that it's the stock equivalent t-stat.

Nice truck by the way!!!!

That is the good stock equivalent stat. Works fine with the stock pump. Sounds like some con-artist salesman was trying to drain your wallet.
