i just bought a 2000 with a 3.0 auto and i drive it from nc to ga on the interstate all the time. it pushes 100 mph easy. im happy with my lil truck
You guys better hold that steering wheel with two hands, don't want have a blow out tire at that speed!
I'll get pretty scare at that speed, maybe I'm just getting old!
I know mine caps at 97. My friends speedo says so that was driving next to me. I've plenty happy with the power of my little wee-6. I've actually hit the speed limiter going up a grade before! Of course that was in 4th gear tho, I tried 5th and it held for about 5 seconds then slowed down on its own.
Vince - isn't it likely you hit the rev limiter and not the speed limiter? Is there a rev limiter on the engine?
Yes there's a rev limiter. The rev limiter and speed limiter feel different. The rev just puts a halt to the engine rpms advancing. The speed limiter makes the truck shutter some how. Like it starts cutting the fuel off or something. I dont have a problem with being able to reach the speed limiter at all.
