Suggestions?
I'm open for suggestions. Just got the trans. and transfer case off (clutch fork is broke) and I'll be putting in a clutch pack. While it's out I'd like to fix my fuel leak - leaks down the passenger side at the rear of the engine between a full and half tank of fuel - any ideas. I've been told it may be a freeze type plug for the fuel system on the back of the head.?.
I've also noticed a lack of power over the last year or so. I removed the cold air aluminum intake line that runs from the front of the radiator to the intake manifold. The aluminum tube has oil in it, as well as a few holes almost completely wore through it from electrical wiring and ac hoses.
Truck is a 99' F350 super duty, 7.3 power stroke, with 6 speed, and 4 X 4. I've made no mods. and it has 160,xxx miles. I pull alot, but only under 8,000 #'s, so I'm not necesarily looking for an upgrade in hp. However I'd like to replace the Garret turbo and aluminum intake pipes - any suggestions on turbo and pipe suppliers. I saw scheid diesel wanted about $900 plus core, does this seem resonable for the turbo? How do I tell the difference between a 99' 7.3 and a 99.5' 7.3? Can I have my turbo rebuilt and save $, if so by what company?
The up pipes from the exhaust manifold to the turbo has no leaks that I can tell and appear in good condition as they may have been replaced befor I bought the truck.
I'd appreciate any suggestions to the above problems as well as anything I may be missing. I'd sure like to fix alot while I have the tranny out. Thanks Matt.
