I'm looking for a rebuilt 302 for my 86 Bronco. I know someone with one out of a 71 Maverick. I know the heads will not be compatible because mine is fuel injected, but I'm not sure if the blocks are compatible or not.

If anyone knows if all 302 blocks are interchangeable or if not which ones are please let me know. Or mabey even a resource
where I might look it up.

any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes yes yes.. everything will work. You can bolt your lower and upper intakes to the other 302, and it will work no problem. You will have to swap the timing chain cover to work with the serpentine belt water pump though.

Make sure you check out the timing marks and the pointers that bolt to the timing cover. These can get mixed up too. Check out the dipstick situation. If the 86 dipstick is in the pan, ok. If it is rearward on the side of the block, You might have to do some head scratching. (the bronco takes a rear sump pan). Also, I don't think it will be a problem, but check the firing order too. Some fuel injected 302's had 351w firing order.
