Post Common X PSD issues?

I bought a used '00 X PSD (~68,00 miles) about a year and a half ago. This is my first Ford, and so far, I am amused. I know I bought it used, and I bought it at about the time when vehicles typically start having issues, but man, I have some wierd ones. Any help would be appreciated, even if to give me a better thing to search for!

1) Front end was LOOSE. Turned out to be the unit bearings. These things were so bad that metal filings were coming out of the back of the bearing, Swapped them out myself, all is good (along with new tires)
2) My door locks are flakey at best. I did see the "tinfoil" article, and will be trying that soon.
3) Along the heater box under the hood, I see what looks like accumulated dirt and oil as if from a fine mist. I saw mention of the turbo seat gaskets (o-rings?) that could account for this... Thoughts? If these gaskets are no good, might it account for slightly higher-than-middle (~75%) oil pressure guage?
4) I have a LOT of turbo noise. This is my first diesel, so I might be over-reacting, but it is LOUD. Especially when shifting from 3-4, hard kick-down, and loud whooooosh. I did have to have the turbo boost hoses replaced a while back, but that does not seem to be the problem this time...
5) The power steering cap acts wierd When I leave the engine off, and turn the wheel to one lock or another, p/s fluid shoots, in a stream for like 24" out of the small breather hole in the top of the p/s cap. This is just wierd, I have never seen anything like this
6) Lack of power - I know this could be anything, but if there are common issues with a PSD X, I could use the info.

Any help would be appreciated, this is my daily driver, and I do a lot of long trips with it. I would like to fix what I can as fast as I can to make sure I can keep this for a long time (aside from the fact I can barely find a spot big enough to park it in, I love the thing).

Thanks,

Bob

Ok you fixed this one.

Correct but easy fix almost a non-issue if you follow the "tin-foil" fix. I added some other methods in that thread I thought were better, but the tin-foil works. If you want specific help you can email me.

Did you check the drain valve on the back of the fuel filter. Mine was leaking similar to yours. Cost $3.00 for me to replace o-rings.

Funny my Corvette makes a lot of noise on the track when I floor it also.

Would not suprise me. You are forcing fluid through a system when valves are closed, oil has to go somewhere. If it doesn't do this with engine running drive on.

6) Lack of power - I know this could be anything, but if there are common issues with a PSD X, I could use the info.

This one is confusing to me. How do I judge lack of power. UMHH,, mine accelerates pulling a 6000# boat the same as it does empty. So I wonder does mine suffer from low power. What I experience it it is not a gas engine and torque is applied from dead stop to highway speeds very smoothly. This might not feel like power as in a gas engine but if you were pulling 10000#s' of concrete it would probably accelerate the same way. So speed not a barn burner but power,, might just be there if you pull a load.
