97 ford 4.2 wont start sometimes?
been having troubles with my (new to me) truck. its a 97 f-150 stepside, v6 stick. runs good and all but i had been having trouble getting it started. turn the key, click, click. not a dead batery. i searched the forums and tried, new battery cables. didnt work. checked everything. all the electrical connections i could. here i just happeden to "bump" the starter, with a hammer, ha ha. would you believe the starter was loose from the mount on the bellhousing? had my wife turn the key and sure enough, click, click only this time i was down by the starter. sparks at the key click. sparks from the starter to the bellhousing. grabbed one of the freakin may different size wrenches, from changing a 60.00 pair of battery cables, and snugged the starter up. works great.
guys remember to post your troubles in your header. not truck trouble. not this things tickin me off. mine should be a good example. explain the problem in a few words, with the kind of truck it is. from endless searching of this forum...ha ha. i'm sure sombody has had this trouble. hopefully they will find this post when they need it.
