74 F100 Fueling Problem
So at this point, all I can tell you is that the cheapest & easiest way to avoid this problem is to carry a 2-foot length of cut off garden hose with you and slip one end of it over the gas nozzle and stick the other end into your gas tank whenever you are refueling your truck. You would also be well advised to avoid stations that use the compresseion style of nozzles for vapor recovery as they are not very user friendly to those of us who would rather not smell like they have used gasoline as an after shave!

I bought Ford replacement fuel hoses for the rear tank and they had "top" and "toward tank" stamped on them with arrows. When I took the originals off, turned out they had been put on there upside down and backwards at the factory. (i bought the pickup new)
There's a metal bracket that the hoses are supported by... IMO it's too low, it was straight down like an L and I bent it like a Z. Or did I go the other way? :) Opening the Z Or L) Like \_ ? Either way it raised the hose going into the rear tank.
That and wrapped the new large hose with a tin can and hose clamps which made the hose rounder and the tin can protects the hose from abrasion from the frame and bed's "seam lip". Rounder made the hose's "bottom" lower.
But more than anything i believe what will do you the most good is finding gas pumps where the pickup can lean toward the passenger side -and- have the gas pump nozzles that have the bend in the center of the pipe.
I took the bed off my pickup and worked over the tank situation even. And I can still have quite a bit of trouble... if the pickup's leaning even-just-a-little toward the drivers side even with the good-bent-type filler nozzle pipe.
Whatever you figure out, good or bad, get back to this thread and tell us about it. :) Ok? :)
