[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-Oct-02 AT 09:00 PM (EST)]When ever you get out of my dad's truck after running the a/c for a while it will sound like firecrackers under the truck. It is the condensation driping on the cat. When i was at the ford repair shop, i asked them about this they said it is normal. They also said there is nothing to do about it. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it. The truck is a '01 Supercrew f-150 2X4 4.6L.

My truck makes a similar sound. Mine makes the noise regardless of the a/c running or not. I've chalked it up as the oil dripping back into the pan and the different materials cooling down at different rates. Most vehicles I've driven for any length of time will make some noises after running them a while and shutting them off. The fluids all need to run back somewhere and things need to cool down.
Now I'd be worried if I saw the fireworks;-)
