Yes I agree Tim's right. Reset the computer and see what codes ya get after a short run. Know that ya will lose your clock and radio preset channals when ya do this. But hay yer clock was prolly of anyway and ya might find some better radio channels.
Okay, the truck (93) started kicking and bucking about a month ago. It would idle okay but step on the gas and it was missing. We messed with the timing to get it to run better but it would ping.
Here is what we have done so far. Replaced distributor, timing gears, O2 sensor, Checked fuel pressure, chased a code for a pip/ecm sheilded wire short, checked vacum pressure, lost half a head of hair.

Sounds like it could possibly be related to the EGR or vacuum leak of some sort. Most popular place for these I-6's to leak are at the throttle body gasket and where the upper intake manifold meats the lower intake manifold. Any air that gets into the intake post MAF (if you have a MAF) and post throttle body, you will have issues.
