can anyone tell me if a computer from a 87-93 5.0 mustang will fit a 1992 f150 4x4 with a 5.0 mustang engine someone said it would fit plus may get my mpg back up, Thanks, Dewayne
It'll fit, but you won't like the way it runs, if it runs at all. Engine components are matched to the original computer. Changing the computer brings on all sorts of problems. You don't want to consider making this change.
Someone once said the earth was flat, too. "Someone said" gets ppl into all sorts of trouble.

can you tell what would help on fuel mpg it has mustang headers with a flow master single pipe no cat 5 speed 4x4 12 to 13 mpg thats all, Thanks
Gearing and driving habits will give you the most fuel mileage change. I reguarly get 15-16ish in my 93 F350 crewcab, which weighs a lot more than your truck. Mine's a stick so I control the shift points obviously, and unless I'm merging on a highway (or towing, or heavily loaded), I'm in overdrive by 30-35 mph.
Headers, if they're a good design, usually give better mileage because they restrict the exhaust flow less than the stock manifolds. That's assuming the "cork" behind them is changed also - the cork is not necessarily the muffler or the cat, but mostly the inlet/outlet diameters of both as well as the diameter of the exhaust tubing throughout.
You would have to do a lot of re-wiring to get the computer to work, but yes, it will run the engine in the truck. That computer is what Ford uses in the popular mass air conversion kits.
