6.8 is the best gas engine for the X, and I have a black one which I think is very rugged and manly, even PIMP, but not real pretty. I think yellow VW bugs are pretty....
I think the engine that would be better is a forced 6.8, but it is still the same base engine. Diesel would be an option, but not the 6.0 (even ford is fighting for a refund on them) especially since diesel was higher than premium for the last 2 years or so. It negates the benefits of diesel.

If I could have any Excursion it would be,
2005 all blacked out Excursion with the forged rod motor, torque shift tranny, 20in+ chrome rims, in dash navigation, chrome nerf bars and a 4in lift.
