My son got into the garage the other day, and has basically covered my floor with spray silicone. Anyone know of anything that will cut and remove this.
Most of the silicone sprays use trichloroethylene as the carrier solvent. Take a look at some various brands of brake cleaner. Some of them use trichloroethylene. That might help, but if the silicone has soaked into an unsealed concrete floor you're pretty much screwed. In any event use lots of ventilation and maybe a respirator. Trichlor is nasty.
Are they even still using it? I thought it had been pulled from the market due to being a carcinogen. We used to buy it in 5-gal buckets years ago, but it's no longer available as far as I know. Carb cleaner will remove about anything (incuding most concrete sealer, unfortunately).
If you can find anything that will remove silicone you will be a millionaire. Nothing will remove it. Sand your entire floor with clay type kitty litter and grind it into the floor. Sweep off the excess.

Actually, it's all over the place in paints, inks, degreasers, etc. What was banned was 1,1,1, Trichloroethane.
working in a shop with concrete floors i have found that brake parts cleaner will remove about anything, paint, sealer, ANYTHING, try that out, id be surprised of it didnt work
