Hey fella's,I have a 05' 6.0 f350 with 32,000 miles on it.It has started to not start for me. It may go for a couple days and be fine, then I'll run somewhere say ten miles or so shut it off, come back ten minutes or so and it won't start.? Took it to my local dealer and of course, it didn't do it while they had it. Got it back, took one trip with it and it stranded me where I stopped and shut truck off. Dealer says he has one other truck that their dealing with right now that is doing the same thing, they have replaced some sensors,so it doesn't do it as often say once a week. He called it heat soak. Fuel warms up and won't let engine start. Help please
Welcome to FTE lots of good people and info around here.
First off sounds like you need to find a different dealer that has a "Certified & QUALIFIED" 6.0 diesel tech.
You may have a bad HPOP fitting, bad HPO check valve, bad IPR, HPP or bad ICP sensor. Sounds like the dealer you are going to is just throwing parts at the problem instead of diagnosing and fixing the problem.
Hopefully a moderator will come along and move this down to 6.0 forum as you will get more specific responses down there from the resident 6.0 diesel techs.
I have had the same problem with HMMWV’s in Iraq
It is vapor lock in the injection pump. What I did was to dump a canteen of water on the injector pump to cool it and it would start right up.
