If i was to build a drag truck starting with a ford, it would probably get a 6oh, or a scummins.

I wouldnt put a 6oh in, sure they can make pretty big hp but they have thier problems too. Also once you start heavily modding them it gets very pricey just like the 7.3 does. If for some reason i decided to ditch the 7.3 id drop in a common rail cummins. There are complete kits to do the swap and they are very easy to get hp out of.

Did u make 596 on forged rods?

negative, i have billet rods. Made 550 on forged rods, they lasted about 20 miles before they bent.
