Air bags might have fixed the sag but would not have fixed the reliability of the trucks. DMAX only dropped 3" with the heaviest load. Now we will see how they hold up. And I guess dan thinks this is still a Ford Truck OWNERS web site.
I believe someone already mentioned this freak: maybe we (you) need a definition of "enthusiast" well here you are, do you meet the definition?

Well, look at it this way. If only the people who really need a superduty bought them, how many would Ford sell? I don't know, but not nearly what they sell now. So, if Ford or GM and Dodge for that matter, don't sell many heavy duty trucks, how much money are they gonna spend on R&D, new technology, and retooling...
Well said. The majority of people in this country don't buy things because they "need" them - more often than not they buy because they want to. That's what makes this country great. The majority of pickups nowadays aren't even used for work, but for pleasure. Does someone need a SD to haul a couple Seadoos to the local lake? Probably not, but it doesn't bother me. Hell, I drive my truck empty the majority of the time and I don't care what anyone thinks cause I enjoy my vehicle that much that I use it as my every day driver commuting to work.
My 2008 F350 CC squats about the same with my 4000 lb camper on it as my 2004 did. The springs are definitely longer but I also noticed that the sway is gone in the 2008. I am actually impressed that without airbags the new one did so well.
The sway bar on the rear end worried me and I ordered a Helwig before putting the camper on. I am not sure if it is needed now. Anyone else find this new smaller sway bar to actually work better than the older models that had a pretty good sized one?
