I have 96 Bronco w/5.8L engine. I find that sometimes it will not start and sometimes it will cut off while driving. If you let it sit a few hours, it will crank again. I have replaced the fuel pump, plugs, wires, rotor and distributor cap. The ECM diagnostics are normal. Anyone got any ideas?
Could be a bad Ignition Module. Problem: When module overheats, it will cause the engine to die. When it cools, engine restarts. Sooner or later, engine will die and not restart.
Ford recalled 5 million of the dizzy mounted ignition modules several years ago.
Module mounts to dizzy with Torx headed screws. You will need a thin shank Torx driver to get the little bugger off. Change the pickup coil in the dizzy, also.

My first guess would be what Nd suggested . i had this happen to the 1985 f-150 yrs back. If that doesnt solve your problem try reading the codes , might point u in some direction Good luck TR
Good idea on reading the codes. Even if there's no MIL lit, there still should be a code in memory. That will narrow it down.
I agree, it's probably the ICM or pick-up coil, since it starts again after cooling off.
