newbie question

Ok this is my first truck (wanted it for years), a 94 F250 4x4 XLT, 351 auto. how many forward speeds does this year have? I am use to drive my Civic so it seems the truck rev's high, I am assuming it has 3 speeds and no overdrive.

It could be a C6, which has no overdrive and also no locking TC.

I think F250s only had either the E4OD or C6 autos. I dont even know if the C6 was still available in 94. Look at your guages. E4OD: PRNO21. Thats most likely what you have. If not then probably a C6.

ok,
there is no button
TC?
the code is: 133 F26B G 35 494F
17 bolts and a rectangular shaped pan
PRND21
it is definatly using all three gears, guess I am just not use to it, after all I have been driving a 4 banger 5 speed for 20 years. My F250 doubles even triples the spec's of my Honda, I can work on it in the dark but know very little about that big V8!

With no overdrive button, and a 17 bolt pan, that would be a C6 3-speed I believe. TC means torque converter.
