I'm new to the forum and not quite sure how every thing works but I have a question regaring my new 2007 f150. It has a 4.6 v8 and only 4000 miles but I have noticed on serveral occasions that while sopping at red light the engine will surge and I must step on the brake to stop it. At first I thought that I had hit the accelerator but it has happened too many times. In all cases the surge takes place after I have stopped and am sitting at idle. Is this something that I should return the truck to the dealer to repair or check out? Any help would be appreciated.
I just got mine with more miles than you and my check engine light actually came on. I put the tuner on it and cleared the code until I got home so I could look it up but once I cleared it, it never happened again. I called the dealership because it is still under the factory warranty and they said if it does it again to bring it to them because it could of been out of line?!?!?!?! But fortunately it hasnt happened since.

Unfortunately, by clearing the code, you eliminated the only clue the dealer would have to diagnose what's wrong.
I always scan it to see what's wrong, then unplug the tool and drive it to the dealer to get it fixed....why clear it when they need that to fix the problem?

I don't know, I just have a bad habit about clearing codes because I hate seeing the check engine light flash. Also if it was messing up then it should have did it again. Now it runs fine and have not had any problems with it and its been close to a month now. P
camshaft sensor P0340. But like I said its fine now and hasnt done it again. I would hate to get that replaced just for the labor cost alone due to the fact that you have to go and pull out a/c equipment. Thank god for factory warranties.
