I don't think anyone makes some specific ones for the application since the frontends are aparently a little diffrent and alot of people shift the motors to the passenger side. There is a puzzle piece mount kit made for the volare but the word on the street is that its more trouble than its worth. I will just make my own for my 302.
there really ain't no such thing. because of the different offsets owners choose and that big ole honkin steering box... and different engine sizes and placements... there ain't no generic stuff...
Your best bet is to hang the engine/trans/dshaft in the truck... get it where your clearances are adequate (headers, steering linkage, oil filters, etc) get the right oil pan BTW. Check your pinion angle and engine angle and then wire it into place... wooden blocks, bailing wire... jacks under the transmission... whatever.
Then get some cardboard, scissors (don't run with them) and start making a template of what you will have to fab to hold it in place... The passenger side isn't too hard... the drivers side will be a jigsaw puzzle that must be put together around the steering box... I used 1/8" plate and 3/4" tube for my vol are set... it's a long afternoon project just to get it set up and the pattern made...
After you've cut and taped together your masterpiece... take it apart and transfer the pieces to metal and start fabbing... hold your pieces and tack.. add another piece and tack... when you have it like you want it...take it all out and weld it together... It's fun !!! It's exciting !!! It's a pain in the rear, but it's your best option...short of getting someone else to do it for you.
You can see what mine look like in my vol are article on my page... volare article
these were for a 460...but the method(madness) is the same.
The video I got from No Limit on the volarie install has a section in it about building the mounts. It goes into more than enough detail to build them on your own. If you can wait a couple of weeks I would be glad to send it to you. I should be done with it by then.
cobra, thanks for the offer on the video, when i was younger i watched my dad make his engine mounts. and i have a brother and his neighbor to help me with an idea so i can get it welded together... if things go horrible.. ill reconsider!!! but much appreciated!
54, I have a series of pics of the basic way to fab with a 2" offset and can eamil if the one in my gallery (progress photo, chassis) is not sufficient. Just PM your EMA, Jon
i found some motor mounts on www.accessoriesgiant.com hopefully they will work!! if anybody else is looking for mounts try this place.. id call and talk to a rep instead of buying parts on line.. to make sure its right.... ill let ya know if they work when i get them in!!!!... thanks everyone....
