Power Steering Leak

Hey guys my friends dad has had an 06 F-150 5.4 for around a year I think not sure how many miles less than 30k probably. But he has had the power steering system end up completely dry 3 separate times now. It is not leaving a puddle or anything. This is not my truck and I do not know all of the details but I was surprised I hadn't heard anything about power steering problems on these trucks. Is there somethin I'm missin, what do ya'll think is goin on with it?

try looking for any oil spray around where the lines are. I'm guessing that it's only leaking under pressure. Also check around the rack at the back of the engine bay.
