Fumoto Spring Clip
Can someone please post a pic of their Fumoto with the spring clip on? I can't figure the darn thing out.. I've popped it off 20 times and nearly lost it 10 times.. Its sitting in my ash tray in the truck right now... The place I bought it had no photo of it, just put it in a ziplock bag lol..

Never got a spring clip. Never needed one. Never had a problem. Thing is a pain in the *** to open anyway without a clip (not really, but does anyone know or ever heard of anyone having a problem). I heard they're bad to hit you in the EYE when they pop off (kind of like the kid with the BB gun in christmas story)--LOL.

They make special pliers for that kind of clip, or you can just make your own by cutting a small V into the end of a pair of pliers so it can hold the wire in the center of the pliers while you are squeezing it.
Otherwise others here have used screw type hose clamps or a 3 prong compression clamp which are a little easier to work with. I haven't installed my fumoto valve yet but I plan on putting some kind of clamp there. I realize it is highly unlikely the valve would ever get opened but it's not that hard to add one of these clamps and it keeps people from opening it up unless they've got tools with them. If someone wanted to screw with you bad enough to bring tools, I'm sure the oil being drained out is probably going to be the least of your worries.

I tried the hose clamp approach but it did not fill the groove where the thing turns and it would have to go on the backside of the lever to stop it from entering the turn groove...Remember the release to turn the valve has to pull back ,then turn...
If the spring clamp fills the groove it CAN NOT pull back much less turn...

I cut wood on some rough land and have had small sticks and branches end up in wierd places on the underside of my truck..
This truck, btw,is a great wood hauler.I can load the long bed and haul a trailer with NO Effort and still get great mileage..
